The Outlook by Mabel Forrest

A city roof of iron wrought,
Blank windows by all eyes forgot;
And yet the early morning sun,
With a whole day's work still undone.

Paused (giving to my sleepy gaze
The kind intention of its rays),
To paint that cold forbidding spot
In warm and glowing apricot!
