Women by Zora Cross

My mother passed me with cold eyes
When I had sinned my sin.
My mother's gentle eyes were wise
   And let no girl-sins in.

My little sister was but three
And knew not right from wrong.
She kissed my shame away from me...
I hid it in this song.
