Personal Comments:

Rather off the beaten track and certainly worth a visit. This winery is well away from any others in the district and hence has a taste and style all its own. Paul Osicka told me last time I was there that although he is only about 20 kilometres away (as the crow flies) from Tahbilk and Mitchelton, his vineyard experiences budburst a good two to three weeks after those wineries. This indicates a slightly cooler climate than the Goulburn Valley and more towards the Heathcote style of big peppery reds. In other words there's nothing else quite like it.

The welcome at the winery is friendly and the list of varietals small. They are in the process of opening a new tasting area which I first thought might detract from the basic nature of the current location amongst the wine barrels in the bottling area, but a couple of visits during the process of the building convinces me that it will only enhance the visiting pleasure. A major worry after leaving the winery and driving towards Heathcote is the number of kangaroos in the district. The locals will tell you that they get visitors hitting them every couple of days - at least that's what they told me after I'd done just that.
