"PURE DUTCH"

Wireless station PCJJ, which is situated in Holland, is now broadcasting a program to Australia on a wave length of 30.2 metres.

I only own a crystal set
   Fixed modestly in my abode;
And all the stations that I get
   Are, so to speak, across the road.

Aristocrats of other waves
   Speak of great feats that they achieve.
To me it seems each set behaves
   In wondrous ways hard to believe.

I do not understand their talk
   Of logging Boston or Berlin.
For me they only squeal and squawk
   When I drop round to listen-in.

I am content.  I understand
   LO, AR, and 3DB.
But, frankly, on the other hand
   PCJJ is Dutch to me.
