According to a Lopndon cable a private of the Royal Tank Corps has been fined £10 for having been drunk while driving an Army tank.

To be blithered in charge if a bus,
To be canned while conducting a car,
These degenerate days, is a commonplace phase,
And cannot get a man very far.

But it's worthy of cables and space --
For it sure as a record must rank --
When a man is the first of his race
To be tanked while in charge of a tank.
